Metabo Power Tool Safety Features

S-Automatic Safety Slip Clutch

Metabo's S-Automatic Safety Slip Clutch helps prevent "kickback" and protects the tool from "burning up" during a pinch or bind situation. 
​The S-Automatic Safety Slip Clutch celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2016.

Fast Brake

Metabo's Fast Brake is a mechanical system utilizing a traditional disc brake (pad and rotor) to stop a slicer wheel or grinding wheel within 2 seconds after the switch is released. 

Restart Protection

Metabo's Restart Protection is a feature on all non-variable speed Electronic grinders that prevents the tool from turning back on after power was interrupted (cord unplugged, power outage, etc) until the switch is cycled to the "off" position and back again.

Drop Security Ring

In preparation for upcoming ANSI standards, Metabo now offers angle grinders with a Drop Secure tethering point on the rear of the tool.  Every Drop Secure grinder model is also equipped with a Fast Brake.

Auto-Balancer

Metabo's Auto-Balancer greatly reduces vibration to the worker, tool, and abrasive.  This not only increases tool and abrasive life, but greatly reduces the risk of Raynaud's Disease ("white knuckle disease") and Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS).
